I Made Griyawan
I Made Griyawan, born in 1979 in Batuan Bali, is an inspiring Balinese artist who revived the traditional Batuan technique. Influenced by his artist parents, Griyawan began drawing at the age of seven. Characterised by the traditional Batuan-style, his art inspired from both his conscious and subconscious experiences, aiming to reflect his identity and beliefs through his work. His pieces often explore themes of personal and cultural significance, blending traditional Balinese elements with innovative techniques. His talent has been recognised through various solo and group exhibitions across the globe, including 'Awakening Soul' in Tokyo, Japan, the Tokyo International Art Fair 2016, and the 32nd Chelsea International Fine Art Competition in the United States of America in 2017.
